SonoSite Hand-Carried Ultrasound Research Award

Description

The SonoSite Hand-Carried Ultrasound (HCU) Research Award supports original research into the positive economic, clinical or ergonomic benefits of using HCU, as well as innovative clinical applications of HCU technology. For the purposes of this award HCU is defined as ultrasound systems that:

  • weigh less than 10 pounds
  • have the capability to run on battery
  • have at least 2D imaging capability

The recipient will receive $1,500 and a personalized plaque to commemorate their award achievement.

Eligibility

  • Sonographers – Must hold current sonography certification from ARDMS or CCI and must be a current member of a sonography professional organization
  • Students – Must be attending a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited sonography program
  • Completion of an application does not guarantee the receipt of an award.

Submission Criteria

  1. Submissions must support research regarding the benefit of using HCU systems. These benefits include, but are not limited to:
    • Novel methods of incorporating HCU into clinical practice
    • Innovative clinical applications for HCU technology
    • Innovative technical applications for HCU technology
    • Positive economic benefits of the use of HCU technology
    • Positive ergonomic benefits of the use of HCU technology
  2. Submissions may include:
    • Original research articles
    • Notable case studies
  3. Sonographic images and data collection must be generated using SonoSite ultrasound systems
  4. Submissions must be new, unpublished material
