GE Healthcare Excellence in Sonography Award

Description

This award represents the commitment of both GE Healthcare and IFSER to support the promotion of excellence in sonography through an individual or team approach or through an action which increases the understanding of sonography. This award will identify and honor outstanding sonographic achievements, through the use of 2D, 3D, 4D, and other emerging ultrasound technologies, that advance the art and science of diagnostic medical sonography. Award winners will receive $1,000 and a personalized plaque to commemorate their award achievement.

Eligibility

Sonographers – Must hold current sonography certification from ARDMS or CCI and must be a current member of a sonography professional organization

Students – Must be attending a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited sonography program

Completion of an application does not guarantee the receipt of an award.

Submission Criteria

Submissions must include the following elements:

  1. Must be new and unpublished material
  2. Significance/Quality of Achievement
    1. Does the achievement address or solve an existing sonographic issue?
    2. Will this achievement advance knowledge in the field of diagnostic medical sonography?
    3. Will this achievement have an effect on current concepts?
  3. Innovation
    1. Was the achievement due to the employment of novel concepts or approaches?
    2. Was the applicant's approach original?
    3. Were the existing paradigms challenged and new techniques developed?
  4. Impact on Diagnostic Medical Sonography
    1. Does the manuscript clearly illustrate demonstrable or quantifiable changes as a result of the achievement?
  5. Impact on Enhancing Patient Care
    1. Has health care been changed as a result of the achievement?
  6. Sonographic images and data collection must be generated using GE Healthcare ultrasound systems
