Who We Are

IFSER is a non-profit with a working Board of Directors. Currently on the board, we have program chairs, clinical instructors, JRC-DMS site visitors, item writers for national registry examinations, coordinators and sonographers.

IFSER has a long history of providing education, grants, scholarships and products to the sonography community. Our Mission Statement is “Dedicated to improving access to quality education and information for the global sonographic community.”

Each summer, sonography educators gather for an Educator’s Summit to network and share presentations on the latest in teaching, research, and technology in sonography to educators, clinical instructors and working sonographers. IFSER strives to ‘Empower Educators’ with quality information in a comfortable interactive setting. We also grant a $1,000 scholarship to a deserving sonography student to assist them with their educational journey. This student is selected by the hosting school with set criteria.

IFSER also awards an International Service Award to a registered sonographer who is traveling abroad to provide ultrasound services or sonography education in other countries or to under-served populations. We also give an International Humanitarian Service Award to another non-profit organization using ultrasound in developing countries globally for their international outreach by teaching or training ultrasound practitioners. All these scholarships are from the proceeds of the Educator’s Summit.

The SCAN™ (Sonography Clinical Assessment Notebook) is IFSER‘s competency tracking system for assessing students’ clinical skills and progress. At present, the modules are being updated to be an even more effective evaluation tool.

The Board of Directors has a common goal – to serve, whether locally or globally, we want to serve others.
